The Session

Song notes:

This song tells the story – unfortunately all too true.

I was very hard to wake up the next morning and we were the first band in the main stadium that morning – coupled with a flat tyre on the car and a massive hangover – I was given a right chewing out by the rest of the band members – as I so deserved.

However, a pint of Guinness was delivered to the stage as we began and I managed to get through. Probably my best performance!

Wouldn’t recommend it though!

Song Lyrics:

The Session

(Warrigul  (2001)

Ch

I’m a rogue, I’m a Rambler

I’m as drunk as a skunk

I’m stonkered and plastered, I’m legless and sunk

I am staggering home to a bed I may find

Is out in the dog house tonight!

Vs 1

Well I looked for a session so to the pub I did go!

I sang all the songs that a Rambler should know

And the crowd did their part for they all sang the songs

And the black ale poured all night long – CH

Vs 2

Well the music was grand but as each hour passed

the other musicians found that they couldn’t last

And at three in the morning when I looked around

They were gone but the crowd wanted more – CH

Vs3

So I played my guitar, and sang the same songs again

they didn’t mind for they sang them with friends

And they all brought me ale, until my voice began to fail

And big Kev came to my rescue!

He pulled me aside and said,” It’s time to go,

You’ve had enough and I’ll tell you how I know!

You’ve got five pints of Guinness up there on the bar

To go with the twelve pints you’ve emptied so far!!! – Ch
