Song Lyrics:
Over Exposed
Mark Bainbridge © 2001
Vs 1
When I was a lad, crawling on the floor
I was wearing a wet nappy which got caught on a door
I pulled and I tugged, with all my might
Then something happened which was going to haunt me all my life
Well they went ping as they stuck into my skin
I let out a yell but my parents just grinned
CH 1
Well the pins popped off – and the nappy went down
The folds unfolded and it fell to the ground
I never intended to be so exposed
To cause red faces or feel the wind blow below – below!
Vs 2
When I went to school, to learn the golden rule
I tried to be a good boy and not to seem such a fool
I sat in front of Polly. She was a pretty girl
I liked her a lot and she had a pretty curl
The teacher to quiz me asked me to stand
And as I stood in front of Polly, it all began…
CH 2
Well the buttons popped off! And the zip went down
And the braces gave up, and they fell to the ground
I never intended to be so exposed
To cause red faces or feel the wind blow below – below!
Vs 3
When I was a teenager, I was playing sport
I got pretty good at the local tennis court
Until one day at the district tournament
When the winning volley down I sent
I straddled the net in a victory leap
But the crowd started laughing when ·I hit my feet
Ch 3
Well the button popped off and the zip went down
And the braces gave up and they fell to the ground
I never intended to be so exposed
To cause red faces or feel the wind blow below – below!
V.s 4
Well I grew to be a man and I met a pretty lass
I courted her and wed her at the local Sunday mass
And when, that night, we prepared for bed
“I think I’d like to see what sort of catch I’ve caught” she said
Well I stood to my full height and as if right on cue
It finally happened when I wanted it to!
CH 4
Well the buttons popped off! And the zip went down
And the braces gave up and they fell to the ground
She smiled with delight at me being so exposed
She said “Come and love me underneath the blankets here below,…
Below – below – below – below!
