Vs 1

There are fields with grass and wild flowers bobbing on the breeze there are birds that sing and fly about between the leafy trees

And beneath the soil buried are the horrors of the past

In every country we can find

These fields of battles past

And the old people say

And the young people say

And all the people say,. Can we forget?

There are monuments to heroes and statues to their kings who ordered their armies, these battles to begin

And no matter for what reason, for profit or just cause As in a game young men died, sacrificed like pawns

And the old mothers say,

And all mothers say, Can we forget?

There are graves and shrines, to our soldiers of the past

But there are many more of innocents, who coped the cannon’s blast and their graves are not marked with any heroic deed

But they stand in silent testimony, their souls are freed

The bombs, the guns, the missiles, and the weapons that destroy and kill
